Last Photoshop Workshop for now
Last Wednesday,

1st Landmark Guest Lecture of the Year!
JOHN LITTLE - Director of The Grass Roof Company
John Little is Director of The Grass Roof Company which specialises in creating distinctive small-scale buildings for community projects, schools and residential settings that feature living roofs. John has pioneered and delivered very practical solutions for injecting excitement and diversity into urban greenspace, and his work on the Clapton Park estate in Hackney London is generating national interest because of its high level of community engagement. John works with a wide network of artists, ecologists and designers in London to develop creative and innovative ways to bring sustainable ideas into everyday living.

"Is Landscape Architecture important in the developing world?"
Apologies for lack of audio with this presentation. Nat discussed the importance of the "Livelihood approach" to post disaster intervention. In particular environmental assets within disaster zone areas and the significance of landscape architecture for social and economic activity in areas of poverty. Regardless of economic status, people need space to express themselves freely and in this sense landscape has a very strong political and democratic importance. The presentation shows many case studies of how landscape is used effectively for urban development, improving livelihoods, communities and local quality of life.
